New Podcast - The Coaching Network

Saturday, January 12, 2008

Believe it or not, we have finally released a second podcast. This one is an interview conducted yesterday by Chris Zoephel. He interviewed Curt Solomon regarding the new Coaching Network that YAMIA has been working on. It will be introduced at this year's Winter Conference in Dallas later this month.

We intend to podcast some of the teaching sessions that YAMIA is hosting at the Winter Conference, so stay tuned for more!

New Update for December

Thursday, December 13, 2007

Merry Christmas! We have some new articles for you, but perhaps even more exciting, we have a beta version of our Resourses and Curriculum area. There are a number of forms and studies there already, but we'll be adding more to help resource you as much as possible. We hope you'll find something you like and consider subscribing to the RSS/Atom feed to keep up with the latest resource additions. Lastly, consider sending us some of your own resources so that we can review them for inclusion in the resource database and make them available to others who might be truly blessed by your material. You can also add comments to each resource.

The design will change (and has!)

For those of you who want to know more about what design changes are happening on the site as we continue to gather more content, you may be interested in reading my latest article on the topic.

Leaders Meeting brings significant changes

Sunday, September 09, 2007

The leaders meeting in Daytona went exceptionally well, according to those I was able to survey. We have some exciting directions to report on the site over the next weeks and months. Core values were discussed as a means to shaping our decisions and initiatives. A new site design has begun and portions have met with enthusiastic approval. Winter Conference planning was a whirlwind, but the results are really encouraging. There will be a new focus this year, and we'll be telling you more about that on the site and by email soon.

Thanks to those who have recently registered as part of the network. We'll be sending out some more email information to you soon, and eventually producing an email newsletter for those who register.

Thank you to those of you who were praying for our meeting. Please continue to pray for the leadership of this venture. We certainly need God's continuous help to move forward.

Upcoming Leaders Meeting at Daytona Beach

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

We are greatly anticipating the upcoming Leaders Meeting at Daytona Beach this week. Please pray for us as we discuss the direction of Anglican Mission Youth Ministry and especially the YAMiA.net website. We have a lot on the agenda and hope that the decisions made at this meeting will pave the way for an even more productive year ahead.

We are anxious to get more resources into your hands, but it seems there are certain hurdles we must overcome before we can effectively do that. We already have new features stories and podcasts waiting in the wings to be pushed out to you. Expect some furious activity following the Leaders Meeting.

And, as I said, please do pray for us. Fast if you feel inclined.

Cheers and blessings,
JM

Interview with Mark Oestreicher is up!

Friday, July 06, 2007

We made some of the changes tonight. The interview with Mark Oestreicher is up and the audio is en route to the podcast. That may take another week to produce, though. All in all, let us know if this interview was helpful to you.

Churning up some changes...

We have a number of things churning in the background which you will see shortly. We have an exclusive interview with one of the most successful youth ministry leaders in the country—quite possibly the world!—an article to encourage you in the midst of the busy summer season, and some more podcasts—all on the way to you here at YAMiA.net!

Our annual leaders meeting is also in the works, which always promises to bring new and exciting fervor to this growing project. Stay tuned in the next few days for some excellent stuff.

Two months in the wings

Wednesday, May 09, 2007

After two months without a serious post, I'm sorry that I don't have more to report at the moment. There is an explanation and a list of some of the things being worked on on the main page, along with a fine photograph of Curt Solomon looking through... what is that exactly, Curt?

I am hoping to have an interview with Alan Armstrong which will be reported on the site — it should be a great one.

Jason Miller serves as the editor and designer of the YAMiA.net site on behalf of the Anglican Mission in America. He resides near Chicago with his wife Danielle. He is a poet, teacher and aspiring missionary. He is a member of Church of the Redeemer.

the site plan
current status: phase three

complete Phase 1 - Basic.
Our goal in the first phase is to have a basic site in place. We want your feedback throughout the process because this site is for you.

in process Phase 2 - Resources.
We'll be adding resources from the Winter Conference as quickly as possible, and filling out more of the content pages. We'll bring you a monthly feature article related to youth ministry.

pending Phase 3 - Coaching Network and Curriculum.
We intend to provide a place for you to download completely modifiable curricula for student ministry. We also intend to start up a coaching network for pastors and parents.

pending Phase 4 - Getting Connected.
You'll be able to find out what events are happening in your area and register your events to connect with other youth groups and leaders.

complete Phase 5 - Job Postings.
Ahead of schedule on this one, you can now provide a place for job postings and resumes.
