Design changes flow from YAMiA vision

Following the recent leaders meeting in Daytona this August, we will implement several design changes on the site which we hope will help to make the site clearer, easier to navigate and more expansive as content is produced.

You've already seen some of the changes on our cover page and this one. Changes should become evident as we make them, but we will try to highlight them as we go. The leaders meeting was an amazing time to get to know one another better, and to learn how to play to each others' strengths. Some additional team members bring particularly exciting strengths to the team and we're excited about working together this year. We took copious notes regarding site design, improvements and next steps in our phased roll-out plan. I want to highlight some changes that will be taking place here and encourage you to comment by emailing me.

Learning more about who we are

We are committed to communicating well who we are and what we're about. We will be posting more of this kind of information in the near future.

    Navigating the site

As more content is produced, easily navigating the site will be extremely important. A basic navigational structure featuring links to articles, blogs, podcasts, resources, curriculum and information about YAMiA will be added to the site in September 2007.

    Core Values

The leaders behind YAMiA felt it was necessary to hammer out some core values as guiding principles for our decisions and as a help to site visitors. These will be posted on the site once they are finalized.

    Winter Conference

We will be creating a series of pages pertaining to the annual Anglican Mission Winter Conference. These year's conference will be in Dallas, Texas toward the end of January. We have a number of workshop offerings we want you to be aware of and will give you more information for planning purposes in the weeks and months to come.

Headings will be smaller than in the past

Although we intentionally wanted striking images on the site, we are now going to shrink the size of heading images to help you load our pages faster and get to the content you most want.

    Podcast production

We have been creating a podcast workflow behind-the-scenes to serve you better and in more media outlets. Be patient with us as we have quite a few excellent items to post once our equipment and workflow are in order. We intend to read some of our feature articles in the future for those of you who prefer to listen to the content instead of reading it.

    Code Redesign

We will be re-coding our templates and style guides to improve usability and accessibility, not to mention consistency across most web browsers.
